Early morning the rain finally stopped so I went on a walk to see Manchester before we head to Vermont. The city was not awake yet, the streets were still wet and the air was so clean after the rain.

I walked back though Veterans Memorial park, which was even more beautiful in the early morning sun.

The main shopping area is filled with restaurants and unique shops. The restaurant that advertised cow foot soup is not on my list to try.

I saw a steeple in the distance and wanted to get closer so I walked across the bridge into a neighborhood full of beautiful homes including one that was the home of, Monsignor Pierre Hevey, Pastor of Sainte-Marie’s who created the first credit union in 1908.

The church was Sainte Marie Roman Catholic Church. Students dressed in their uniforms were filing in for morning mass when I got there.

Back down the hill and across the bridge I was in search of a way down to the Merrimack River that I could see below the bridge. When I finally found a way down to the riverfront I found incredible street art on the columns of the bridge. There were rapids in the river from all the rain the day before!!!   Over 5 miles walked and it is only 9:00 am!!

Back up the hill to the hotel to leave for Vermont, my 50th state.
