The trip from Ushuaia back to Buenos Aires took most of the day. Traveling in Argentina is a test of patience as lines are long and very slow. 3-hour lead-time is not a suggestion it is a requirement. We arrived at our hotel after a full day of travel in time for a late dinner.

We set off to adventure in Buenos Arises Our first stop is the Recoleta region of Buenos Aires at the famous Recoleta Cemetery.
The Recoleta Cemetery is usually listed among the most important cemeteries in the world. Located in the Recoletta neighborhood it contains the crypt of Eva Peron (aka Evita family name Duarte ). The cemetery a popular touris attaction and the local visit to leave flowers for Eva (picture of her crypt has flowers). The oplenace of the cementary has made it one of the worlds mose beautiful cemeteries in the world.
Then, we transferred to a boat to explore the Parana Delta, where the Parana River empties into the Rio de la Plata on its way into the Atlantic. The town is called Tigre. This exotic landscape is just half an hour from the city but seems a million miles away. Traditional houses on stilts (pilotes) are surrounded by lush subtropical vegetation and built on islands that are separated by a twisting maze of waterways. I really enjoyed the relaxing boat ride in this scenic area, which is one of Latin America’s unique environments.
This evening we did a private tour of Buenos Arises by night. The city really comes alive at night!! They have a theater district that reminds me of Time Square in NYC.
The rocks with names on them are a memorial to the people who died of COVID. It was started in protest because the country waited for a vaccine from Russia after refusing America’s help.

We head home tonight!! It has been a very active 23 days so I am ready to go home and chill for a bit before my next adventure.
Before heading home one last adventure. We went to cooking school to learn how to make Empanadas and Dulce de Leche Alfajores. I have fallen in love with Empanadas during the trip and who wouldn’t love cookies stuffed with Dulce de Leche. Argentinian empanadas are, one of the most important dishes in the country. After we cooked we got to eat the results along with a paired wine tasting. What a perfect way to end an incredible trip. Yes, I will be making these for my next dinner party.
Headed to the airport for the long flight home! I have have learned so much and definitely pushed myself physically and mentally. I am so blessed to have the incredible adventures that the little girl reading National Geographic only dreamed of. I only have 6 days at home before I head out on my next adventure to Yellowstone to hang out with the Bison and hopefully Grey Wolves.
