Today we traveled from Fez through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountain range, with its thick woods filled with lush cedar and oak trees en route to Erfoud. With stops this was a 9 hour journey.

The Atlas Mountains extend some 2,500km across northwestern Africa, spanning Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, separating the Atlantic and Mediterranean coastline from the Sahara Desert. The Atlas Mountains are a series of ranges with diverse terrain, climates and wildlife. The area is dotted with Berber villages and riven with canyons and ravines.

We did a coffee stop at Ifrane, a picturesque ski town built by the French.

The best stop of the day was when we fed the monkeys!! We had brought fruit from the hotel and they were very happy monkeys!

The vista views  of the mountains were awe inspiring!!

We arrived at our hotel just in time to catch the sunset!!

A long day of travel that was broken up with fun stops along the way made it a “Best Day Ever”

Tomorrow we head to the desert and camel riding. My vision is finally starting to clear….woohoo!!!
