After almost 30 hours of travel I was finally in Auckland to begin my New Zealand adventure.
When I landed the sky’s were grey and it was a bit chilly but by the time I got to my hotel the sun started to peak out and overall it was a beautiful day!!
I headed to sky tower to get on the Hop on Hop off bus to see as much of Auckland as I could. It was a day that took me to great heights to see the city. The first stop where I got off was Mt. Eden which is an extinct volcano! The bus guide said it was a steep but short 10 minute walk to the top. It was really a very steep climb that took more than 30 minutes but so worth it.
The next stop where I got off was Bastion Point which was also also at the top of a steep hill which provided views of the city including the ocean and the outer islands.
Back in the city I saw the sign for the Sky Tower bungee jump and headed to the kiosk to see if they had any opening. Fortunately for me someone ahead of me who had scheduled a jump chickened out so I got to go off the top of the sky tower. Why would anyone jump off a perfectly good building???? Because it is so much fun!!
