The morning began watching a huge cruise ship dock in our fjord. It was fun to watch the ship fill up the tiny dock and the 3000 plus passengers flock into tiny Flåm.
To avoid the crowds we headed to the spectacular Stegastein viewing platform. About 35 minutes from Flåm via a windy road with lots hairpin turns the viewpoint is an incredible view of the fjords from above. The structure, juts out 30 metres from the mountainside, 650 metres above the fjord, offering an unparalleled panorama view of the fjord, the mountains and surrounding landscape. We were blessed to be there when there we only a few other people so we got to enjoy the view and experience the peacefulness of it.
We got back to town and wandered a bit then when back to our guest house to recharge. Late afternoon we were hungry so we headed to the food trucks grabbed hotdogs and headed to the park to eat them.
We then walked around the fjord, visited the Fjord farm thenended up at the Marina for happy hour. After happy hour we headed back to the balcony of our guest house to watch the giant cruise ship turn around and leave. Amazing how peaceful and relaxing it is in Flåm, a nice break from our busy adventuring.
So blessed to have yet another “Best Day Ever….So Far”!!!!
