After a long day of travel I arrived in Edinburgh to begin my adventure! Over the next 20 days I will be traveling in Scotland and Ireland by train. I have so many fun activities planned!!!
The sun was shining brightly as I began walking about. There is a beautiful walkway and park close to the hotel that leads to the Old Town area. I quickly found the Black Rabbit vegan restaurant and had a yummy cheese toasty!!!
Nourished I started walking about and found Greyfriars Church wandering the grounds I spotted a spectacular view of the Edinburgh castle. As I wandered about I got rained on a bit as the weather turned quickly from sunny to grey in seconds. I ducked into the church to wait out the rain and was amazed at the beauty of the both the stained glass panels, incredible rafters and the beautiful organ. Although I am not into formal religion I was moved to pray and light candles. It was a very spiritual moment and fed my soul.
This evening I did a graveyard and underground vault tour that was so much fun. Jared our guide was so entertaining with his ghost stories and in one picture in the vaults there appears to be a possible glow from a ghost.
Walking back to the hotel as the sun set I was feeling so blessed that I have the opportunity to experience all of this beauty!!!!
