Masquerade Ball and Captain’s Party
Tonight was the first Captain’s party that the QM2 has held since COVID and I was invited! The QM2 was on a world voyage when COVID shutdowns started and discontinued the voyage when they got to Sidney. All of those passengers scrambled to get home from Sidney. Cunard refunded the remainder of cruise or gave the passengers credits that allowed them to retake the entire trip. Many of my growing group of friends were part of that and chose to do the trip again even though they experienced lots of issues trying to get flights home from Sydney.
Everyone dressed beautifully for the party and the masquerade ball that followed. I am not someone who loves to wear formal attire but it is really fun to see everyone dressed up and having fun. I especially love the Scottish men in their kilts!!! Sorry I was not able to get any pictures of them but they are dashing!!!
Champagne was flowing and the food at the Captain’s party was incredible including caviar and lots of pastries
QM2 decorates the entire ship for each “Gala” night and during the day do movies and lectures that tie into the theme. They really do make it special and most passengers do participate.
Our next port Heraklion, Greece is on January 19! Looking forward to the next adventure!!!
