The morning was spent at one of the most scenic spots on the island!!! At Rano Kao Volcano, we explored the freshwater lake tha was formed in the crater’s depth and explored Orango’ ceremonial center on the crate’s edge. This place is one of the principal sited of the birdman cult, which is immortalized in the stone carving of birdmen into the rock.

The stone houses that are connected and are embedded into the side of the mountain are where the birdmen lived.

The afternoon was free time so we spent some time a the waters edge watching see turtle then explored the town a bit before walking back to the hotel.

Just before sunset we drove to Ahu Akivi, one of the only ahus on the island, whose seven moai stand in a line facing the ocean and the sunset. We had wine and snacks as we watch the sunset behind the Moai.

Then we headed to a show feature native dance!! What a fun way to end the day!!!
