It is a beautiful day in New Orleans! The sun is shinning so we are headed to City Park via the cable cars. It took us almost an hour to get from the French Quarter to City Park but it was so worth is once we got to the park. City Park is City Park offers 1,300 acres of gardens, playgrounds and a spectacular sculpture garden.

We walked though the beautifully landscaped grounds admiring the art and throughly enjoying the beautiful day. It was a welcomed break from the crowds and intensity of the French Quarter.

In the after noon we headed back to the French Quarter to go learn the basic of Louisiana Cajun and Creole cooking. The School is in a renovated molasses warehouse from the 1800’s. We learned how to make Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo, Corn and Crab Bisque, Chicken Etouffee, and of course Prailines!!! I have never tried Louisiana cooking because I assumed it would be super spicy but I was absolutely wrong!!!! Each dish was better than the next and I left there stuffed. I now have the recipes and I will be making each dish in the future……maybe there is a New Orleans dinner party in the making. It’s all about the roux!!!!

Wow three “Best Day Ever…..So Far”and the we have so many cities to go.

Tomorrow afternoon we leave on the overnight train to Chicago.
