Sunrise over the Logo Grey glacier was a spectacular event!! My room has a view of the lake and the glacier so special to wake up to that view.

After breakfast we returned to Torres del Paine to pursue its myriad wonders on foot with an experienced guide. Our first hike of the day took us to Salto Grande, a scenic waterfall fed by the waters of Lake Nordenskjold. The glaciers of the park are in quick retreat—up to 56 feet a year for the last 90 years, creating a remarkable study of soil creation and plant development from bare rock to thick forest. The flora of the park ranges from grassland to southern beech forests. Many parts of the park were too remote for the cattle and sheep ranchers, and so they exist today in a pristine state.

The afternoon was a scenic hike around Lago Lake a gray lake due to the sediment from the melting glacier. We had a perfect weather day with low hanging clouds in the morning followed by an afternoon where the sun shone bright over the mountains and we were taking layers off.

Exploring the park by bus and on foot (almost 8 miles hiking) provided unparalleled beauty. No pictures or words could ever describe this incredible place. God used every shade of blue in the big box of crayons when he created Torres del Paine!!! Our trip leader stated that hiking in Torres del Paine would be life changing and she is so right!!! I am so blessed!!

Yet another “Best Day Ever…so far”!!

Note: For the next 5 days I will be on ship with no connection to the Intranet so my blogs will continue when I get back to land!!
