It was a beautiful morning and I had a bit of time before we had to go to the train station so I did a walkabout at sunrise! The sunrise over the St. Lawrence river was spectacular!!!!

Soon after we headed to the train station for our all day trip from Quebec to Toronto.

We arrived at Toronto’s Union Station at 7:00pm The station is Canada’s largest and most elegant train station. Its Great Hall looks every bit a temple to the railroad, while its resplendent limestone exterior is dominated by 22 Romanesque columns. Built in 1927, this glorious Beaux-Arts structure is actually the third incarnation of the station a testament to the importance of railways in connecting Canada. Nearby is the iconic CN Tower built by the Canadian National Railway Company and the world’s tallest free-standing structure from 1975 until 2007.

After settling in to the hotel I headed to the CN Tower for dinner with my friend Carole Ann (CA) who I met on the World Voyage on the Queen Mary 2. It was so much fun catching up, enjoying the sunset and the lights of the city!!

CA chose the CN Tower because she know that I love to view cities from tall building. She is really afraid of heights which I found out in Dubai when I force Her and Lola to go up to the Sky Observatory where both refused to go near the edge. I feel so blessed that she put her fears aside to provide me a “Best Day Ever…So Far” evening in her home town of Toronto.
