We are going to Kennedy Space Center today!!!!
I have been a space junky since I was 9 years and Kennedy gave his infamous speech about going to the moon! When I was 16 we landed on the moon and I as sure I would become an astronaut! I did interview with NASA to become a mission specialist but fail the physical because of my hearing issue. I was so disappointed but kept my interest in everything space related. Going to Kennedy has been on my bucket list forever and today I get to experience it!!
As we pulled into the parking lot emotions hit. Seeing all the rockets in the skyline was so overwhelming. We did every inch of the center from the simulated rocket launch to operating the shuttle. The presentation of the first shuttle launch then having the screen open to the display of the shuttle was amazing. It was so inspiring to experience the great things we created as a country when we all believed that we could.
As we left the park the thought in my head was Best Fricken Day Ever!!!!
On the way home we drove through Merritt Island Park looking for wildlife but they all took the evening off!!
Dinner was at The Garlic with yummy food and a chicken pitcher filled with red wine.
We headed to the deck for the sunset but instead we had a thunderstorm……the perfect ways to end this incredible day!!!!
