After breakfast we headed out in our jeep for a scenic drive to the legendary Masai Mara Game Reserve.
Maasai Mara National Reserve is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. As we arrived and ventured into the park, the plains stretch endlessly before us, teeming with diverse wildlife. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration. The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers. The area nearby is dotted with villages (enkangs) of Maasai people.
After settling into our lodging we headed out for our first game drive!!
The road through the Mara are deeply rutted so you bounce around a lot as your drive!!! The look on my sister’s face was priceless!!!
We started seeing animals almost immediately!!! I loved the elephants at the waterhole and the mama giraffe watching out for her babies!!
The sunset was spectacular!!!
