I leave for home today but I had the morning for a bit of adventuring. We decided to go to Governors Island.
Governors Island is a 172-acre, car-free oasis in New York Harbor, located just a short ferry ride from Lower Manhattan, It is special because it blends a rich, preserved military and maritime history with a sprawling, modern public park offering sweeping views of the Statue of Liberty and the city skyline.
Once on the island all of the chaos of the city evaporated!! I enjoyed walking around the island and enjoying the history.
All to soon it was time to head back to the city to pick up my backpack and head to the airport.
This has been an amazing unexpected adventure!! I am so blessed to have so many “Best Day Ever… So Far” in my life.
In just 13 days I head off again this time for 4 days in London followed by 10 days in Africa to hopefully experience the great migration.
