My walkabout lead me to the cove where I witnessed a specular sunrise!!! I am feeling so blessed!!!

I captured a few more pictures of this tiny town then headed to the hot tub to relax!

After the hot tub we grabbed a biscuit sandwich from a food truck and headed to the bay to eat it. The birds were all pacing in front of us hoping we would drop some crumbs which did happen and they were happy.

Back in the car to head to Cedar Key. Cedar Key is an island city off the northwest coast of Florida, in the Gulf of Mexico. It’s known for Cedar Key National Wildlife Refuge, a group of small islands with trails and rich birdlife. It is about a 5 hour drive.

We made our first stop on St.George Island to get our toes in the sand on what Dr Beach says is the best beach in America. All the incredible homes and the light house makes this an exclusive place to live.

We stopped for gas at the Piggly Wiggly and of course I had to take a picture of their mascot.

About an hour down the road we stopped at a State Park called Tate’s Hell. So now it is official I have been to hell and back. The drawn cedar trees wer incredible!!

Back on the road we made a stop to see the smallest police station in the world which is a phone booth. Of course I was arrested and held in the station!!!

We finally made it to Cedar Key in time for yummy clams! Cedar Key is clam capital of the US (at least they claim to be)!!

We did a walk about of the town after dinner because we were soooooo full. The town was ravaged by a hurricane just 18 months ago and is struggling to recover.

A beautiful sunset from the pier and we headed back to our hotel which is one of the structures that survived will little damage. The building on both sides were completely destroyed.

Absolutely a “Best Day Ever…..So Far” !!!!!
