April 4 – May 11
Sorry that the recap of the trip is a bit late. When I walked in the door to my home after the trip I was hit with a virus that kept me in bed for 4 days!!!
MY trip across America was incredible and so beyond expectations. A trip that we spent months planning evolved in unexpected ways.
I traveled by train 5017 miles, by planes 4298 miles and by automobile 2412 miles and walked 318 miles. We passed though 13 states over 37 days!!
I completed two-bucket list items visiting Kennedy Space Center and seeing manatees in the wild while one a space launch had to be reschedule for another trip.
I have 3 more National Park stamps in my National Park Passport book.
I stood in Frank Lloyd Wright’s studio and Hemingway’s office!!!!
Beyond all those achievements I had the experience of seeing the vastness of our country and that despite the division that is constantly in the news we are all striving to thrive. We may not agree with how to do that but we all want it. Each person I had a chance to interact with from the 80 year old nun celebrating her birthday to the train attendant working long shifts to help put her kids through college they want one thing for us to put politics aside and figure out how to move forward. When I was at Kennedy the hope that I felt as a kid that if we as a county worked together that we could achieve anything reemerged. I hope that we as a country can figure out how to come together!!!
Enjoy the pictures!!!
I am so blessed to be an adventurer, learning and growing with each trip. Thanks for traveling with me on this adventure. I love sharing with you and appreciate your comments.
Next up starting July 18th is London then off to Africa to experience the Great Migration with my sister!!
