The day started with sunrise at the beach followed by a walk about in the quaint beach town of Fort Walton Beach. I came across what looked like 100 dollar bills and thought I had hit it big only to realize they were fake…..drat!!!!
We loaded up the car and headed south along the coast to Apalachicola. Located on the Apalachicola Bay, an inlet of the Gulf of Mexico it is a small town that has been decimated by hurricane Michael in 2018 and continues to recover. The population was 2,341 at the 2020 census.
We are staying at the historic Gibson Inn founded in 1907 it features a wrap around porch with rocking chairs. After a fun adult beverage that included a frosted rim with sprinkles we did a walkabout of the town which is about 4 blocks total.
As we relaxed on the porch the sunset on our day of exploring!!
